This week, as part of introducing our 2013 Community Citizenship award recipients, I’m pleased to introduce Al Tachovsky and share the story we read during the Wednesday, February 19 awards celebration.
The 2013 Community Citizenship award winner could not be here today, but we want to recognize Al Tachovsky of REMAX Advantage Plus.
Al has been with RE/MAX since 2009 and is a member of the Minnesota Home Team. Nominated for this award by team leaders Kyle White and Tyler Laymen, he is described as the poster child for hard work, dedication, and selflessness. He is always willing to help others any way he can, and even when things are tough, he finds something positive in the situation.
A few years ago, Al reconnected with his high school friend, Rick, who was struggling with the effects of Multiple Sclerosis. He took that drive and dedication and started the MS Birdie Bash- a golf tournament, dinner and auction that has raised over $50,000 in its first two years. Funds benefit the MS Society of Minnesota and provide direct grants to those suffering with the disease.
Al is currently planning the third annual MS Birdie Bash which will take place on June 23rd at the Stonebrook Golf Course in Shakopee.
For all of his hard work we present this award to Al Tachovsky.
As mentioned above, Al wasn’t able to join us for the awards presentation as he was traveling with Rick to medical appointments the week of awards; we presented his award to him prior to the event.
