Meet Our 2013 Wisconsin Community Citizenship Award Recipient – Rich Moen

RichMoenLast week I shared how RE/MAX North Central recognizes a few deserving RE/MAX agents with non-real estate related honors at the Awards Celebration.  One of these awards is the Community Citizenship award.  This week, I’m excited to introduce our 2013 Wisconsin Community Citizenship award recipient and the story we shared during the Monday, February 10 awards celebration.

Where the spirit of RE/MAX meets the spirit of giving-  we have the Community Citizenship award. This award recognizes one individual who exemplifies the commitment RE/MAX agents have to the communities they serve.

Rich Moen began his career with RE/MAX in 1996. Rich has always been a great supporter of the RE/MAX brand. First, as co-broker/owner of RE/MAX Realty Center, and now as broker/owner of RE/MAX Solutions in Watertown. Rich often gives of his time and expertise to the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors- serving on numerous event related and mediation and arbitration committees. Rich shares his RE/MAX spirit by requesting the hot air balloon to fly-over Watertown’s popular  Riverfest event every year.

Rich has a talent as passion for music which he has shared frequently with his church community over the years, especially within the youth programs. He has also been known to share his musical talents with his RE/MAX family during the 2004 Fall Convention’s RE/MAX Idol!

What really stands out about Rich, is his passion and commitment to Children’s Miracle Network. Now, I hear it may be fueled by his admiration of Marie Osmond, but that’s just a rumor…

Back in 2000, Rich decided to put on a family-friendly event to raise funds for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, while bringing together the Watertown community. That was the first year of the annual Christmas Movie Fundraiser. Rich took the lead by working with the theater, securing contributions from local businesses and vendors, soliciting auction items, inviting a patient family, and even emceeing the events himself- all to benefit Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, and later, the Watertown United Way- for which he is also a long-time board member. Over the 13 years, Rich has raised over $70,000 for these deserving charities.

For his many years of hard work and dedication, we present the 2013 community citizenship award to Rich Moen.
