Opportunities for Local and National Real Estate Awards

awards2Your knowledge and dedication to real estate deserve to be recognized, and a number of local and national organizations want to honor you.  Below are a handful of real estate awards opportunities that you can nominate yourself for, or recommend someone you know.

William R. Magel Award of Excellence (NAR)

  • About: The award honors an individual who has truly excelled in his or her role as an association executive of a local or state REALTOR® association and who is active in the REALTOR® organization at the time of nomination.
  • Requirements: The candidate must have served at least ten (10) years, prior to nomination, in the capacity of either a chief executive officer of a local or state association of REALTORS®, or a combination of both. The candidate must have served at least one (1) term as a member of the Association Executives Committee.

MN Real Estate Hall of Fame (University of St. Thomas Shenehon Center for Real Estate)

  • About: Awarded to a realtor that has made a significant contribution as a leader in the field of real estate, has impacted his or her particular area of real estate and should be recognized primarily as an exceptional role model in his or her discipline, has displayed the highest level of ethics in his or her business practices, has improved his or her community as a business leader
  • Requirements: Applicants DO NOT need to be St. Thomas graduates.

Wisconsin Commercial Real Estate Women (WCREW) – Leadership Awards

  • About: Honors outstanding women in Wisconsin’s commercial real estate industry and requests nominations for women that have demonstrated leadership in the industry through, among other things, project development, community involvement, display of foresight and vision, commitment to mentoring and other accomplishments.
  • Requirements: nominee must be a WCREW member.

National Association of Realtors Good Neighbor Awards

  • About: REALTOR® Magazine’s Good Neighbor Awards recognize REALTORS® who have made an extraordinary impact on their community, or on the national or world stage, through volunteer work. Five winners are announced each fall in REALTOR® Magazine. Winners are recognized annually at the REALTORS® Conference & Expo, and receive $10,000 grants for their charities.
  • Requirements: Nominee must be a member of the National Association of  REALTORS®.

Super Real Estate Agents — Mpls.St.Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business

  • About: Super Real Estate Agents is a valuable resource assembled by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business to assist buyers and sellers in their search to find a great real estate agent.
  • Requirements: Nominators can be any Super Real Estate Agents appearing in the previous year’s listing, a sampling of homebuyers who had recent experiences with real estate agents, metropolitan mortgage and title companies, and/or Mpls. St. Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business subscribers. Each of these individuals can nominate up to two real estate agents who they know through personal experience. Each nomination must be accompanied by an assessment of the nominated agent across nine criteria (e.g. integrity, market knowledge, closing preparation, etc.).
  • Deadline: 5/20 (nomination process opens 4/15)
