5 Tips to Make the Most of the Winter Season

TipsForWinterSuccess

Many people often think of the colder winter months as real estate’s slow season, but that doesn’t mean you need to slow down, too. Make the most of the winter season and use the tips below to help you stay on track and get ready to hit the ground running when spring hits.

Educate your buyers and sellers
Winter is historically known as the slow season in real estate, but it doesn’t have to be. Educate your clients on seasonal markets and best practices. Share the benefits of the season rather than the challenges.

Create seasonal content
Stay top-of-mind with your client base by providing relevant, valuable content that helps them throughout the winter months. Make it easy for your network to find the information they are looking for. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Preparing your home for winter
  • Energy saving tips
  • Winter cleaning projects
  • How to deal with ice dams

Make it personal
Don’t be afraid to reach out to your contacts. Relationships need to be nurtured, so make sure you are in touch. Call one of you buyers or sellers on their birthday, or send a hand-written note. Take it a step further by making the time to meet face-to-face with people you haven’t seen in a while. Invite them for a cup of coffee or a drink when you’re in their neck of the woods.

Make sure you know your clients’ preferred style of communication, whether its texting, calling or emailing.

Get organized
We’re normally so busy working that we don’t make time to work on our businesses. Use this time to get yourself organized for the year ahead. Clean up your database, refine your marketing plan and make sure you have all of your tools and systems in place to keep things running smoothly throughout the year. Ease the stress of the busy spring market by making the necessary preparations in advance!

Keep it social
Your market may quiet down in the cooler months, but that doesn’t mean you should, too. Build and maintain your databases on all of your social channels. Don’t forget to keep your channels current by posting valuable content (see #2). Build your online presence, and your brand, by being the go-to expert for all things housing. You can schedule posts in advance to save time and keep your content fresh. Don’t forget to track your efforts and measure your results. What content gets the most engagement? When are you reaching the most people? Focus on what works & build from there.
